Prism Cotton-Silk Knit Vest

Knitted at 14 gauge in long-staple Egyptian cotton with silk carried through the blend, which gives the surface its dry lustre and keeps the cotton from reading as a school jumper. At 210gsm the fine rib is light enough for a warm afternoon and dense enough to hold the V flat rather than let it gape. The armholes are cut narrow and finished with a fine tubular edge so a shirt sleeve underneath does not bunch, and the body carries a little waist shaping so it does not need to be tucked. Wear it over the Grid poplin shirt at a Sydney desk in October, or on its own with a tailored trouser at a Randwick spring meeting when the forecast will not commit.

• Care: Hand wash cold with a mild detergent, or machine wash gentle in a mesh bag. Do not soak. Reshape and dry flat in shade. Cool iron under a cloth. Do not tumble dry.
• Fit: Close through the shoulder and armhole with light waist shaping, ending at the high hip. True to size. Model is 178cm and wears AU 10.

We choose our cloth from long-established mills in India, where these fibres have been woven for generations, and hold every roll to the same standard before it is cut. Your piece is then made up by hand in our Australian atelier.

Wash cool and gently, dry in the shade, and press on a low heat. Silk and linen are happiest dry cleaned.

Australian sizing, AU 6 to AU 16. Cut true to size. Between sizes, take the larger for a relaxed line.
