Kiln Cotton Faille Jacket and Trouser Set

The jacket is collarless and cropped to the natural waist, with a rounded neckline, three-quarter sleeves and two covered hook-and-bar closures that sit flush so nothing catches under a coat. Yarn-dyed cotton faille with a silk weft gives the dry hand and the faint ribbed lustre, and at 240gsm it holds the trouser leg straight from a high waistband instead of collapsing at the knee. The trouser is flat-fronted with a single pleat each side, lined to the knee in cupro and cut long for a heel, and the jacket is underlined so a hot afternoon does not show through. Cobalt is for an Oaks Day marquee and champagne for an Adelaide Hills wedding, and the jacket goes on afterwards over a plain tee for dinner in town.

We choose our cloth from long-established mills in India, where these fibres have been woven for generations, and hold every roll to the same standard before it is cut. Your piece is then made up by hand in our Australian atelier.

Wash cool and gently, dry in the shade, and press on a low heat. Silk and linen are happiest dry cleaned.

Australian sizing, AU 6 to AU 16. Cut true to size. Between sizes, take the larger for a relaxed line.
