Ignis Print Silk Wide-Leg Trouser

The same 19 momme silk twill as the Ignis print shirt, so the two can be worn as a printed suit, with a flat front waistband, a concealed elastic insert across the back for made-to-order sizing and one deep pleat each side that lets the cloth fall straight from the hip without breaking. The artwork is placed to run up the outside leg seam and fade out below the knee, which keeps the eye vertical rather than widening the hip. The leg is lined to the knee in silk habotai so it does not cling as you walk. Wear it with the Base tee to a November wedding in the Hunter Valley, or with the Ash corset to an opening at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Ignis ink or ignis butter, in a numbered run of one hundred.

We choose our cloth from long-established mills in India, where these fibres have been woven for generations, and hold every roll to the same standard before it is cut. Your piece is then made up by hand in our Australian atelier.

Wash cool and gently, dry in the shade, and press on a low heat. Silk and linen are happiest dry cleaned.

Australian sizing, AU 6 to AU 16. Cut true to size. Between sizes, take the larger for a relaxed line.
