Ignis Print Cotton-Silk Mini Dress

A cotton-silk faille at 220gsm holds a box pleat through a hot afternoon and stays matte enough that the print reads as drawing rather than gloss under a marquee light. This is the Ignis print cut short: a fully seamed bodice falling to a deep V neckline with a clean cut-away armhole and no sleeve, lined in silk habotai, with a concealed side zip. The skirt is six deep box pleats set from a dropped waist seam, finishing six centimetres above the knee so it clears a chair and a lawn. It is Oaks Day at Flemington with a bare leg and a flat, a Stakes Day marquee, and a summer wedding in the Barossa. Ignis bone or ignis ink, in a numbered run of eighty.

We choose our cloth from long-established mills in India, where these fibres have been woven for generations, and hold every roll to the same standard before it is cut. Your piece is then made up by hand in our Australian atelier.

Wash cool and gently, dry in the shade, and press on a low heat. Silk and linen are happiest dry cleaned.

Australian sizing, AU 6 to AU 16. Cut true to size. Between sizes, take the larger for a relaxed line.
