Compass Belted Trench Coat

Cut for weather that changes its mind between Circular Quay and the car park. The Compass is a double-breasted trench in Italian cotton and silk gabardine, woven tight and finished so rain beads and runs off the shoulder. Storm flap, gun flap, throat latch, a D-ring belt you pull hard at the waist, and a deep back vent so it moves when you walk fast. Raglan sleeves leave room for a Core knit beneath, and the wool melton undercollar means the collar stands when you turn it up. Sand, ink or cherry lacquer. Made to order.

• Fabric: 62% cotton, 38% silk Italian gabardine, 320gsm, with a PFC-free water-repellent finish; undercollar 100% wool melton; lining 100% cupro to the hip
• Care: Dry clean only. Hang from the belt loops rather than folding the belt. Reproof the shell after two winters.
• Fit: Classic through the shoulder with a generous body for layering; take your usual size. Model is 178cm and wears AU 8; centre-back length 118cm.

We choose our cloth from long-established mills in India, where these fibres have been woven for generations, and hold every roll to the same standard before it is cut. Your piece is then made up by hand in our Australian atelier.

Wash cool and gently, dry in the shade, and press on a low heat. Silk and linen are happiest dry cleaned.

Australian sizing, AU 6 to AU 16. Cut true to size. Between sizes, take the larger for a relaxed line.
